The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, Zhongqiu Festival, or in Chinese, Zhongqiujie (traditional Chinese: 中秋節), or inVietnamese "Tết Trung Thu", is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people, dating back over 3,000 years to moon worship inChina's Shang Dynasty. It was first called Zhongqiu Jie (literally "Mid-Autumn Festival") in the Zhou Dynasty.^[1] In Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, it is also sometimes referred to as the Lantern Festival or Mooncake Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is usually around late September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest. In conjunction with the Mid Autumn Festival,we are going to have mooncake festival celebration on next Tuesday. There will be some games, eating mooncake and many more.

This time Wushu Club did not miss out the opportunity to promote one of the famous chinese cultures to the MMU public - Dragon Flag Dance. With the 10 flags performing some formations, it resembles as if the dragon is flying with pride on the air.

CCIP-一个对我们大学非常重要的活动之一。一个让大家有机会接触和更了解其他种族包括在本地留学的外国人文化的活动。I-Night 是CCIP活动的最后一个晚上，大家被邀请在当天晚上表演自己种族的文化，而我们武术学会被邀请为中华文化表演-大旗舞。我们这次表演的主题是“龙旗舞”，利用十个大旗在加一些阵法，使旗看起来像龙一样在飞翔。

Chinese Dragon is a legendary creature in Chinese mythology and folklore. In chinese art, dragon is typically protrayed as long, scaled, serpentine with four legs. In chinese martial arts, "Dragon Style" is used to describe styles of fighting based more on understanding movement.

中国的神话与传说中，龙是一种神异动物，具有虾眼、鹿角、牛嘴、狗鼻、鲶须、狮鬃、蛇尾、鱼鳞、鹰爪、九种动物合而为一之九不像之形象。在中华武术里，武者模仿龙的动作运用在打斗之中。

Wushu Dance! It is the first time of Wushu Club performing Wushu Dance in front of all students in MMU! It is a creative yet attractive dancing which includes the elements of Shaolin and Taichi by using the Huo Yuan Jia music (credit goes to Jay Chou).

在二零一零年二月四号晚上，多媒体大学DJ club 举办十一周年晚会，武术学会被邀请为他们当天晚上的开幕典礼表演武术-功夫舞。这次是我们第一次在多媒体大学里表演功夫舞！在霍元甲这首歌里，我们利用了舞蹈来表达武术，其中还结合了武术的太极和少林。

Trip to Port Dickson Part 2

2nd Day - During the early morning 5.30am, our vice president woke up to practice his 42 Style Taichi... *faint*... Then I was pulled by him from my dream in order to help him in preparing the breakfast as part of our BBQ food when everyone woke up later.

第二天早上五点半，我们的副主席已经起了身开始练太极拳42式，晕～～而我们可怜的主席被副主席吵醒准备BBQ的食物当其他人还在继续和“周公下棋”（因第一天晚上下雨，而改去第二天早上）

I'm so pity :(

Most of us need to attend BBQ skill training classes. So in the end everyone standing there for waiting nothing...

One of the most significant motives of visiting Port Dickson is indeed playing water at the seaside. Therefore we usually can notice some kids jumping or even upside down for triumphant when they are at the beach.

After having fun at the beach, it was time to back to MMU and then holidays! Members of Wushu club with high spirit and passion should keep up the good work and continue developing the club. Although this trip does not give extremely high excitement to everyone, at least it achieves one of our targets - FOR WUSHU WE GATHER, FOR TRIP WE GATHER TOO!

Ah~ After the trainings, after the performances, after the final exam... It is time to bring ourself some relaxation. So when comes to discussion about trip, you can notice that all members are specially excited and energetic even after 4 hours of wushu training.

嗯～～冷冷的天气，古老却带有历史的建筑物，新鲜的茶叶，以及还有点点点点点。。。。。。

终考还没有开始的我们，却已经开始坐在一起讨论考试后要去那里旅行(这个时候的大家特别的精神，虽然练了几个小时的武术，呵呵呵～～)

Melaka? Nah... People call it as "sien" (boring) prehistoric city...

马六甲？不要。。。许多会员从马六甲多媒体大学转去赛城的多媒体大学。。。。

Cameron Highland? Besides strawberry and vegetable, what can you do there?

金马伦高原？？除了草莓，茶叶，还有什么东西呢？苹果~.~?

Genting Highland? "Noooo.... Majority of us can't enter the casino!"

Ohyea, Port Dickson! See, it is a place which locates near Cyberjaya with picturesque landscape and crystal white sand as well as soothing seawater (yes, seriously................... but that was 10 years ago).

ohyea～～就是波德申！！洁白的沙滩，蓝蓝的大海，干净的沙，干净的海水，这就是波德申（至少10多年前是这样，现在已经没有往年那么好，可是还是一个很不错的地方）

We went there by renting the whole MMU Bus... Aha! Though the people who join this trip was not alot. When we have reached that the apartment, of course we would first inspect the facilities prepared inside the apartment unit.

我们租多媒体大学的巴士去那儿。当我们到了公寓，第一个做的事，当然是看看我们公寓的设备～。～

However, there were some naughty monkeys could not sit properly but restlessly.

到达波德申后，许多人的都已经累了坐着，除了还有几位“猴子”精力充沛～～

While others were enjoying the gloomy dark clouds which we sensed some bad signs are coming soon...

Our initial plan which was supposed to have BBQ as our dinner had been cancelled due to the raining cats and dogs outside. Ugh... So instead of BBQ, we went for steamboat!

Performance and Trip to Da Ma Cai National Wushu Championships

A series of spectacular Wushu Performances in Stadium Badminton Cheras in conjunction with the Da Ma Cai national wushu championships 2009 had been held during the 22nd of August night time.

There were 3 representatives from MMU Cyberjaya Wushu Club participated in one of the performances in this opening ceremony. While other members went and supported them at the same time to gain some knowledge about Wushu from this trip.

二零零九年八月二十二号星期六晚上，一群来自不同州的武者在Stadium Badminton Cheras为大马彩所举办的全国武术比赛表演开幕典礼。

当晚，来自多媒体武术学会的三位会员有幸的和霍元甲武术学院代表雪隆一起为这次的开幕典礼表演武术。当然还有一群为他们打气的其他会员，也趁这次的机会，增广他们对武术的了解。^^

It's holiday! And let's review one movie which will be released on June 3rd 2011 - KUNG FU PANDA 2: THE KABOOM OF DOOM !

The sequel will follow Po, “the world’s biggest kung fu fan, as he continues his journey as the chosen one who fulfills an ancient prophecy while mastering the art of kung fu.” Jack Black
and Angelina Jolie have both signed on to return, with “other original cast members” to be announced.

Screenwriters/producers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger are also back for part 2.

不知不觉功夫熊猫这套动画片已经一年多了，梦工厂宣布《功夫熊猫2》（ KUNG FU PANDA 2: THE KABOOM OF DOOM !）将于2011年6月3日上映，除了普通影院外该片也将在全球IMAX院线上映，并且和梦工厂今后的其他动画片一样，影片将制作成戴眼镜观看的3D立体电影。在续集中熊猫阿宝（Po）会继续他的功夫征程，曾参与了第一集制作的Jennifer Yuh Nelson将担任导演，杰克·布莱克（Jack Black）、安吉丽娜·朱莉（Angelina Jolie）等原班配音人马也将再度献声。本集导演将大换血，改用女将Jenifer Yuh Nelson指导，此人曾长期在梦工厂动画部的故事部门工作，这是她第一次担任导演。

Citrawarna Malaysia -马来西亚一项庞大的节目（Color Of Malaysia)在三月二十一号举行。这项节目是不同种族表演他们自己的文化，让其他种族更了解马来西亚种族的文化。非常幸运的，我们老师的学院（马来西亚霍元甲武术学院）受邀请和Dua Space、MPPJ 以及中华身心创意团代表华人一起合作演出华人的文化。

Wushu Competition to Enhance Ties

EXPONENTS from three wushu academies in the Asia-Pacific region gathered for the inaugural HYJ Academy of Wushu Competition at the Sports Arena in Wisma OCM, Kuala Lumpur recently.

The exponents, from HYJ Academy of Wushu of Singapore, HYJ Academy of Tai Ji and Wushu of Australia and HYJ Academy of Wushu of Malaysia, took part in a variety of categories during the one-day competition that was held in the spirit of fostering ties. The categories included changquan, traditional quanshu, nanquan, daoshu, jianshu, nandao, 42-style taijiquan and gunshu.

HYJ Academy of Wushu of Malaysia’s Woo Chee Heong said the theme of the competition was “For Wushu We Gather, In Wushu We Pride”.

“Besides the competition, we also had a dinner to mark the third anniversary of our academy, and a joint training session.
“Competition alone will not benefit the students as much as training together with one another,” he said.

The activities were in line with the objectives of the event, which included raising the level of wushu among the members, promoting the art of Chinese wushu and upholding the spirit of HYJ founder Huo Yuan Jia.

Leong Sweet Ying from MMU Wushu Club (behind) playing 42 Style Taiji Jian, won a bronze medal !

During the training session, a dance performance incorporating hip-hop and kung fu moves was choreographed.

“About 80 students from the three academies spent an hour practising the dance, and they performed it at the opening ceremony of the competition,” Woo said.

Currently, HYJ Academy of Wushu of Malaysia conducts wushu lessons at five education institutions in Selangor.

“The younger generation admires Western culture and forgets their roots,” Woo lamented.

“I have conducted classes in Western countries before and the students there had so much passion for wushu. Their positive attitude was commendable while the students here sometimes lack enthusiasm. Learning wushu trains one to be disciplined,” Woo said.

Azrul Shahrif Ibrahim, a student of Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, took part in the traditional long weapon category in the competition.

“A roommate encouraged me to take up wushu. That was three years ago. I liked it a lot and my fellow students are receptive to us learning wushu,” said the second-year IT student.

In 2006, Azrul bagged a gold medal in an inter-varsity wushu tournament in Kelantan. To him, learning wushu is more than just mastering a few Jackie Chan moves. “I know more about Chinese culture now, as I always get invited to participate in the festive events organised by the wushu club,” the 25-year-old said.

TARC Kung Fu Night 拉曼学院武术之夜表演

TARC Kungfu Night - organized by Kung Fu Recreational Club from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, with the aims of promoting chinese culture, train the leadership skill of the members of organizing events and foster the relationship among the members of the club. "Martial Art Limitless" is the theme for the kung fu night this year, which telling us that wushu is limitless and undivided, so martial artist should instill this practise into their hearts and keep improving themselves, through this , they can reach a higher level in this ancient practise.

This year, MMU wushu club did perform again in TARC Kung Fu Night (30 November 08). Besides MMU, other organizations and schools like HYJ Wushu Academy, Tsun Jin High School, Dong Bei Bei Taiji organization performed too.

武术之夜是拉曼学院武术研究会举办的一项盛大的节目。此节目的宗旨是为了向学院生推广中华武术之外，也让会员在举办此活动中训练他们的领导能力以及会员借此机会互相了解。武无界限是这次武术之夜的主题，说明着武术无止境，所以习武者应持此观念不断自我提升，以便在这武无界限的领域中达到更高的水平。

二零零八年十一月三十号，我们有份参与此节目表演武术。除了我们武术学会之外，霍元甲武术学院，循人中学，东北北太极武术社，以及拉曼学院本身都有为此节目表演武术。

CCIP 08 - Cross Cultural Integration Programme

CCIP - also known as Cross Cultural Integration Programme, is one of the biggest events held in MMU every year. A programme which enlighten every student in MMU about the different cultures in Malaysia and even other countries.

Po (Jack Black) is a panda who is an apprentice noodle-maker and kung fu fanatic, but whose defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest animal in ancient China. Evil warrior Tai Lung (Ian McShane) has escaped from prison, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophecy naming Po as the "Chosen One" to save the day. He has a kung fu master, Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) who "has trained five of the greatest warriors that the world has ever known", to help him.

"Kung Fu Panda" is hitting theatres this week ( 5 June ) !!!

The third trimester finally has ended. Many of our seniors are going to graduate soon. Hence, our club has decided to organize a BBQ Party for those seniors as a token of appreciation of their contribution to this club for so many years.

第三个学期终于结束了~最后一年的学长学姐也要毕业了~所以我们在五月二号举办了烧烤会欢送他们离开武术学会以及感谢他们为武术学会贡献许多。

Wushu Exam 武术考试~~

During the last few weeks before the trimester ends, a wushu exam has been held to test all members of Wushu Club about their knowledge and skills of Wushu. This exam is conducted by Master Woo (Shaolin) and Mr.Lee Yu Jen (Taichi). For Shaolin exam, it has been divided into 3 categories, which are the routine test, physical test and theory test. As for the Taichi exam, it is also divided into 3 categories : routine test, pushing hand test and theory test.

转眼间一年就快要过去了~~只剩下最后的两个星期，第三个学期的武术训练就结束了~~胡老师与李老师利用了这两个星期的时间，给我们一个武术考试~~这次的考试胡老师是少林班的考官而李老师是太极班的考官。少林班分两天考试，第一天的考试 (四月二十九号）是考验我们的武术套路（基本拳，基本长拳，基本南拳），第二次的考试（五月六号）是口试（考验我们对武术的了解）以及体能考试（考验我们的手力，脚力，腰力，身体的灵活度以及体力）。太极班的考试三项，第一项是口试，第二项是推手，第三项是抽签选套路。

Oh!!! I have forgotten that every 23rd of April is an important day for our club! A day everyone will not forget (except me? >.<) and it's the day which everyone dare to pawn our Taichi Instructor - Mr. Lee Yu Jen !!! After Shaolin Training and Taichi Training on that day, we gave a surprise birthday celebration to our beloved Taichi Instructor! Don't believe?

对了！！原来今天是四月二十三号，对于我们武术学会是重要的一天！！这天是每个人都不会忘记的一天（也是我们敢作弄我们的太极老师-李老师的一天)!!当天武术训练过后，我们给了我们敬爱的太极老师一个惊喜！！！不相信吗？？

Finally ~ Sword has entered into our family as one of the weapons of Wushu Club. This sword is more to the type of portable as it is retractable (the same concept as antenna :D).

我们武术学会终于买了新的武器-剑。这是一把可以伸缩的健身剑，伸长后的长度大约有一米左右，是一把模范太极剑制造的健身剑。(可以用这把剑表演吞剑了^_^)

"An American teenager who is obsessed with Hong Kong cinema and kung-fu classics makes an extraordinary discovery in a Chinatown pawnshop: the legendary stick weapon of the Chinese sage and warrior, the Monkey King. With the lost relic in hand, the teenager unexpectedly finds himself traveling back to ancient China to join a crew of warriors from martial arts lore on a dangerous quest to free the imprisoned Monkey King."

This is the first film collaboration between martial arts veterans Jackie Chan and Jet Li, with action choreography by Yuen Woo-ping.

"The Forbidden Kingdom" is opening in theatres on April 18, 2008 ( this week!!!).

杰森是一位酷爱中国功夫的美国少年，他总是希望自己也能成为一名功夫高手，然而当铺的老板老霍却认为，杰森根本不是这块料，他根本不知道什么是功夫。有一天，杰森在当铺里面发现了一根神秘的金箍棒，竟然因此穿越“无门之门”来到了古代的中国！他发现自己已经置身于一个惊世预言中：一个使者要将传说中的武器交还给它的主人，从而解救被困在石头中五百年的美猴王。

HYJ Wushu Academy was founded by three respectable Wushu masters from the Chin Woo Atheletic Association – Master Chong Sit Fook, Master Tommy Yam and Master Ken Woo (MMU Cyberjaya Wushu Club instructor). They possess and have inherited the great Wushu spirit of Master Huo Yuan Jia. Their hope is to promote the martial art to all over the world. Together, they had established the Malaysian HYJ Wushu Academy. The tag line of the academy is “For Wushu We Gather”. It is simple and direct, describing the spirit of being together, regardless of race, nationality and age to learn the Soul of Chinese Culture – Wushu (gong fu, guo shu). Besides education, the cultural world also emphasises in Wu (sports) and De (ethics)….

One of the most successful events organized by our club - Wushu Integration Camp 2007. This event takes months of preparation and has given everyone an opportunity to meet with other Wushu members from other schools. This camp is organized at Sungai Chongkak, Cheras, Selangor from 9-11 Nov 2007.
